The CHAPAS Club management held one of its largest International Meetings with the presence of 23 foreigners of 9 nationalities. Participants of foreign nationalities from various latitudes: Spain, Italy, Belgium, Germany, England, United States of America, Canada, Russia, and Mexico.

Of the programme that was held we would like to highlight the following:

day 17 – Reception of foreign guests, with buffet dinner.

day 18 – Presentation session of the work carried out and interaction with national and foreign entities, held in the Noble Room of STAS-Sindicato dos Trabalhadores da Actividade Seguradora.

Of the many Portuguese guests present, the speakers were Ruy de Carvalho (honorary president of the APS) and José Figueiredo Almaça (president of the ISP-Instituto Seguros de Portugal).

Also speaking was the librarian and representative of the Fondazione Mansutti, Dr. Claudia di Battista, an institution dedicated exclusively to the Italian collection of insurance activity and recognised in that country as being of public utility. The opening and closing session was in charge of Vítor Alegria (president of CHAPAS Club).

There was an exchange market of insurance chapas between the representatives of the various countries, which created greater proximity and knowledge of the various realities between those present.

day 19 – Arrival in Oporto, where there was a boat trip on the Douro River “Cruzeiro das 6 Pontes”, which ended in the Port Wine Cellars “Cálem”, in Vila Nova de Gaia where the participants of this meeting enjoyed a guided tour and wine tasting.

In Caldas das Taipas, a visit was paid to Carlos Marques, Mediação de Seguros to get to know its excellent collection of fire mark insurance. Visit to the old building of the thermal baths of Caldas das Taipas.

day 20 – Arrival in Guimarães with a guided walking tour of the historical zones of the city – Guimarães Castle, Paço dos Duques de Bragança and the historical downtown area, assisted by an interpreter guide, with the support of Carlos Marques Mediação de Seguros. There was also time to visit the exhibition “Guimarães: in the tradition of cutlery”.

The “Historical Restaurant” by Papaboa hosted a fraternity lunch, an insurance chapas exchange market and the presentation of the representative of the congeneric club in Russia, Dmitri Korneyev.
